This a a sample tour. There are approximately 50 distilleries in the Speyside area which is plenty to choose from and certainly worth some reasearch. Do get in touch with any questions:
MacAllan offers tours as well but we opted to take a wee float in the bar which overlooks the distills.
GlenAllachie as a relatively small but certainly very distinctive disitillery provides a lovely intimate tour experience and there were four whiskies to be tried, two of which special batch.
A packed lunch was provided so the whisky consigneurs could add something so the alcohol would not overwhelm them.
Glenfarclas at time of writing provided free tours including three wee drams to try. The tour was well designed and the wooden panelled tasting room is simply stunning
The Speyside Whisky shop in Aberlour has en exquisite selection of whiskies and well worthwhile visiting
The last distillery on the agenda was Glen Grant where walking the beautiful Victorian gardens was part of the tour prior to tasting yet another two whiskies.
We added two more spots for sunset “onboard” whisky tasting:
Hopeman & Burghead
